What Is An Anti-Wrinkle Injection:
Anti-wrinkle injections are made of a naturally occurring protein that causes the muscles of the face to relax, smoothing out wrinkles for a more younger and rejuvenated look. The most commonly known example is Botox.
Where Can Anti-Wrinkle Injections Be Used?
Anti-wrinkle injections are commonly used on the upper face on the forehead, frown (in between the eyebrows) and the sides of the eyes (crow’s feet). They can be used in various other areas, for example, bunny lines on the top of the nose, gummy smile in the mid face, and in the mouth/jaw area.
Do Anti-Wrinkle Injections Hurt?
It is generally not described as a painful treatment. Some clients describe it as a sharp pinch, and some have described it as pain free.
How Long Does The Treatment Take?
The treatment itself takes around 15 – 20 minutes. The appointment is longer than this to allow a comfortable and relaxed consultation about your needs and expectations.
Is There Any Downtime?
You are advised not to touch your face or apply make up for 6 hours after the treatment and to avoid alcohol for 24 hours. It also advised that you do not lie down for 4 hours following treatment, engage in strenuous exercise, hot baths, sauna, or sun beds for 48 hours. You will be given a full aftercare leaflet at your appointment.
How Quickly Will I See Results And How Long Do They Last?
You will notice anti-wrinkle injections take effect over a period of 2 to 14 days after the treatment. The duration of the effects vary from person to person, but can be anywhere in between 2 and 6 months. In most people, anti-wrinkle injections will last around 4 months.
Are There Any Risks?
As with any treatment, there are minor and less minor side effects and risks which will be highlighted to you at the consultation. Any unwanted effect is temporary and will resolve completely as the anti-wrinkle injection naturally leaves your system over a 2 to 6 month period.
Can You Have Anti-Wrinkles Injections If You Are Pregnant or Breastfeeding?
Anti-Wrinkle Injections cannot be administered during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
What If I Am Not Happy With The Result?
The vast majority of people do not have any issues with their results. Sometimes, a minor
tweak 2-4 weeks after the treatment may be possible depending on the results. In any case,
as the Anti-Wrinkle Injection wears off over 2-6 months, your skin will return to it’s pre-
treatment condition after this time.
